My meals
M1- yam and cottage cheese
M2- nut and seed bar
M3- mashed potato and lean hamburger
M4- Chicken in corn tortilla (2) with salsa and sour cream
M5- yogurt (carb master) and banana
Exercise- I went to Gold's Gym with Andy. We ran one mile to warm up and then did an UBWO (upper body work out). I burned out my biceps and it felt great. I love a good pump in the arms.
How I'm feeling- I want you to know that I had so much fun today. This is going to be a great month getting to visit with you everyday. I also want to give a HUGE shout out to Amanda. She ran 1.5 miles today without walking! She is working hard and seeing major progress. Way to go Amanda! I have a lot going on, but I love everything that is going on so I am very happy. I Need about 5 more hours in the day. I received the cable machine and Andy and I have spent the last 4 hours putting it together to find that it is missing some pieces. I'll have to call about that tomorrow and I'm praying the pieces come before the month is over, lol! Joanna, you were right, the 18" box came this afternoon just as you said it would.
I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to find out who wants foam rollers and put an order together. I don't have a specific co. that I ordered mine from. I just know that it cost 20 dollars including shipping and I cut it in half. It could have been cut in thirds? I bought it on ebay-would anyone be interested in taking that responsibility? It sounded like most everyone wanted one.
I won't have assignment 1 ready for you tomorrow. I had big plans, but didn't quite get it all done today. They will definitely be ready by Wednesday.
If you want to be officially entered in the Transformation Challenge, you need to go to Transformation.com and sign up. It is free so what do you have to loose. I'd love to see one of you win the $50,000 dollars. That would be awesome!

Feeling better
Just got done with upper body work out. Arms are Jell-O!! Oh yeah! I feel better now. Worked out some aggression. :)
What a day!!!
So I am feeling really crappy today. My attitude stinks. I feel like I have too much to do and not enough time or resources to accomplish anything.
I worked today for the first time since the holidays. The pressure at work sometimes is unbearable. I just want to climb in a hole and not come out. Then I was late leaving for work which makes me late picking up Mikell. She called (yes, my 6 year old has her own phone for occasions just like this...) and I was able to tell her where I was which is a good thing. Then I came home and did Jesse's accounting for his business and spent 1.5 hours paying bills, etc. So I just feel like I'm neglecting my kids and family.
Then I made 2 meals for my family and I. The girls fought the whole time through dinner. All the kids are finally in bed so I can go do my upper body work out. I feel so lethargic and wasteful. I know the exercise will do me good.
Ok. That's the end of my bellyaching.
Meals:
Meal 1: 1/4 cup egg substitute, fork full of salsa, whole wheat toast and yogurt (Leslie thanks for the tip about carb master yogurt SO DANG GOOD!!)
Meal 2: yogurt and string cheese
Meal 3: 2 corn tortillas, grilled chicken strips, lettuce and 2 tsp lowfat sour cream
Meal 4: Missed it
Meal 5: Flounder fillet (baked) and green beans
Meal 6: Missed it
Gratitudes: Good friends, the physical ability to change my body, and my cute kids that make me absolutely crazy and my heart ache with love all within the same hour.
PEACE!! I'm out.

So day #1 - it was so-so for me.....
My eating wasn't quite what I wanted it to be - but I did find the areas I needed to improve, and recognized what triggered my slips. Hopefully I'll be able to avoid those - or at least be more prepared for them tomorrow. It was still much better than how I have been eating - so that was an improvement and a move in the right direction. My food today:
-string cheese
-soy nuts & small orange
-apple w/ 1 tbsp reduced fat peanut butter
-brownie (yikes!)
-homemade chicken soup w/ whole wheat noodles, small piece of bread & 1/2 small orange
I know it was a bit carb heavy.....but it was a big step up from most days.....
I tried not to drink as much Diet Dr Pepper today, and didn't pop one open the second I woke up - I actually waited till noon (the true sign of an addict huh?) I replaced it with more water which was great for me.
The area I found I really struggled with was having things ready. I sort of had a plan...but I wasn't ready for how quickly my day was going to take off. I really needed to run to the grocery store to get some healthier alternatives to have available to me and by time I got that done and taken care of I was starving. Then I kind of reigned that in and thought I was in control again. However - at about 3:00 when my little guy didn't take his nap, the other one had a friend over and my day wasn't as quiet as I needed or as organized I cracked again (hence the *?+#^ brownie). But - I had made the brownies the other day and used applesauce instead of oil....a good start?
I will admit that I felt frusrated and overwhelmed with my grocery shopping trip. I was trying to pay more attention to the labels, buy stuff that would be simple and healthy. I've always struggled with getting enough lean proteins - so it was a common problem for me. I went to Smiths and don't normally shop there - so I seemed a bit lost trying to find everything. On top of it all my kids were on one and were tearing up the store. I left feeling like - "How on earth can I do this???" It's going to take some changes, but I'll figure it out.
Ok - this was a bit more than I needed to type, but it helps me to sort it out by typing it. Hopefully that's ok. I'm excited for all of us and excited to feel great about life and be comfortable in my own skin again. Good luck working out tomorrow ladies - I know I'll need it :)

Just checking in to let you know what I've eaten today
100% Whole wheat muffin (I made these and reduced the sugar to 1/2)
hard boiled egg
string cheese
apple
sweet potato (no, not the whole thing lol)
cottage cheese 1/2 cup
another muffin
string cheese ( probably not the best snack ever)
planning to have:
grilled chicken,
veggies
Day 1 is off to a good start! Will make some diet changes for tomorrow to get in more veggies and fruit. Glad Leslie didn't kill over when she saw me in a swimsuit today (that was good)! I am looking forward to tomorrow, but am scared that it is going to be really difficult, but I am ready and so grateful to be on this journey! Wishing you all the best! Kami

Are You Ready?
Are you excited to kick this next month off tomorrow? I am!
First off I am going to admit that I have never done this kind of blog and have absolutly no idea what I'm doing! I've seen other people that have really cute blogs, but this one--well, it just isn't. I hope to learn as we go, but for now it will have the basics!
I want to make sure that you all have a plan ready for how you are going to eat tomorrow. The chances of success without a plan is very slim. Make sure that you come tomorrow ready to take before pictures. These pictures can feel very stressful and create a lot of emotion. I know they did for me. The woman in the "before" picture should be honored for being brave and accepting a challenge for change! Be willing to look at those pictures honestly but without self-loathing. Self pity, harsh criticism, and self loathing can mire us into depression and that will not get you to your goals. Honesty has the power to inspire us to reach and move to higher ground and can be VERY motivating. Please be kind to yourself and honor your desire to change.
I believe it is our inherent right to change. Anyone at anytime can make the choice to change. I believe in you and know that you can do it. I'll be cheering for you!
